ABOUT YOGA BALANCE STUDIO
Yoga Balance has been many things to many folks in the community of McKinney and Collin County for more than 16 years; a place to practice, learn, grow, find peace, relax, and be with community. Our studio has changed and adapted to serve the needs of our yoga students while keeping steady and true to its roots in the traditional practices of Yoga. We understand that balance is a dynamic practice, rather than a perfect one.
Yoga Balance is a true yoga studio, dedicated to supporting radiant health, peaceful minds, and happy spirits among its practitioners through a wide schedule of intelligent asana practices, workshops, teacher trainings, and experiential, practical opportunities for learning and growth. Whether you are a beginner or advanced student, our teachers are highly qualified in a variety of styles of yoga and devoted to supporting each student with their individual intentions for practice. Our expansion into online service in 2020 has allowed us to offer greater accessibility. Join us as we continue to expand and refine our accessibility and offerings. Experience the ancient wisdom of yoga through postures, breath, and meditation with modern adaptations as we all work together to enhance our well-being.
Honey Freis – Owner
RYT 500, YACEP
I have been teaching yoga since 2007 and practicing since 1992. As a yoga teacher and studio owner, I listen and hold space. I strive to teach a nurturing style of Hatha yoga, emphasizing breath awareness and good alignment in each pose, allowing the body’s innate wisdom to guide each pose and movement. I utilize the yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation as a tool to create strength and increase freedom in the body, bringing lightness to the mind and spirit, and drawing awareness deeper.
I assumed ownership of Yoga Balance with the intention of stewardship for our community and the space, continuing to deepen the profound contribution Yoga Balance has provided to yoga practitioners in McKinney and the surrounding area with love and grace.

She loves teaching Hatha, Gentle, Yin, Chair, and Restorative Yoga, as well as Meditation.
Karen has resided in McKinney since 2010. She and her husband Jay have a blended family of six grown children. Her other happy place off the mat is at the beach.
I started teaching yoga in 2004 in Aiken, SC when my first yoga teacher moved back to Australia. My personal mission when teaching is to make each person comfortable throughout class and feel confident on their mat. I love teaching all levels and have a special place in my heart for beginners and restorative. My personal mission when teaching is to make each person comfortable throughout the class and feel confident on their mat.
I am a registered yoga teacher with 500 hours and a licensed massage therapist. As a Thai Yoga practitioner, I could see the connection between therapeutic massage and corrective yoga. I started giving yoga “homework” to my private clients and immediately saw improvements between sessions. I could see yoga was helping to overcome physical and emotional trauma. The healing power of yoga led me to the path to become a yoga teacher.
The only yoga studio I will attend in the Allen/McKinney area! Love the instructors, studio, and downtown historic feel ❤
My wife and I are members there. Great place with a vibrant membership and staff. Plenty of challenge for all levels, which is how we get better at our practice! Come on out.
What a great studio with fantastic teachers who strive to inspire each student. There are so many classes to choose from. I always leave feeling refreshed with a renewed mind, body, and soul. 💕
